안녕하세요?
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club의 퍼지톤 기타 사운드를 처음 들었을 때 불현듯 The Jesus and Mary Chain를 떠올렸습니다.
한때 Echo & The Bunnyman이나 The Stranglers, Days of The New 등은 The Doors를, Train, White Stripe와 Greta Van Fleet은 Led Zeppelin을, Silverchair는 Nirvana를 대신하지 않을까 하는 기대를 모으기도 했습니다.
아마도 록 애호가들은 후배 뮤지션들이 단순한 Tribute Band(예: Bohemian Queen (Queen), Smithdom (The Smith), Fleetwood Bac(Fleetwood Mac) 등)의 영역을 넘어서 선배 뮤지션들의 창조력과 음악적 완성도를 대체하여 현재에도 재현하기를 바랬기 때문이었을 것입니다.
그러나 세상의 일이 늘 그렇듯이 사과는 사과이고 파인애플은 파인애플이어서 원하는 바와 같이 대체가능한 일은 좀처럼 일어나지 않습니다. 오늘은 상큼한 사과와 달콤한 파인애플 몇 조각을 맛보겠습니다.
